Action items are the special spots you can land on when you roll: Attacks, Raids, and Shields. Not every roll lands on one, the same way not every roll lands on Coins alone, so it's normal to go through several rolls without seeing one. A few things can affect how often they show up:

• Active events: the number of action items you land on might change when some events are active.
• Already holding the max of an item: if you already have three Shields, any extra Shields you land on convert to Energy instead, so it can look like Shields have stopped appearing when they're actually just converting.

Every roll still moves you forward

Coins help build your Village, Shields protect you during Attacks, and any Energy you use still counts toward event progress, even during a stretch where Attacks, Raids, or Shields don't come up. So every roll is already doing something for you: your Village grows, your Attacks get stronger, and your event score climbs – action item or not. 🙌
